On June 18^th, 2008, the first 220kV carbon fiber core conductor in Jiaxing Grid was put into operation. This is the second 220kV transmission line made of carbon fiber core conductor in Zhejiang Province, the first being erected in Ningbo. The carbon fiber core conductor in Jiaxing Grid, which has a total length of 11.5km, is a renovated expansion project to the two 220kV transmission lines, i.e. FenJia 4Q19 and FenShan 4Q20 extending from the 500kV Fenhu Substation to the 220kV Jiashan Substation. The new line of carbon fiber core conductor has a transmission capacity twice as many as that of the original ACSR while the weight is reduced by nearly 20%.
